Scotland's national orchestra returns with a glorious programme.

Royal Scottish National Orchestra

RSNO Assistant Conductor Holly Mathieson is a real rising star - and in this concert she is all about bold colours and deep feelings. British composer Judith Weir gets ambient in Still, glowing, and Joseph Haydn detonates a controlled explosion of energy and emotion in his fiery La passione Symphony.

After that, we're off to America to exprience the freshness, colour and simple joys of a frontier wedding in the Appalachian mountains - Copland's music makes you feel glad to be alive.

The RSNO's very own Christopher Gough takes the soloist's spotlight to round the evening off with Richard Strauss' First Horn Concerto.

Weir: Still, glowing
Haydn: Symphony No49 La passione
Copland: Appalachian Spring: Suite
R Strauss: Horn Concerto No1

Holly Mathieson: Conductor
Christopher Gough: Horn
