The legendary evacuation of Allied soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk - a pivotal moment in the Second World War - is brought magnificently to screen by Christopher Nolan in this epic, star-studded war drama. Told from three perspectives - the beached infantry, the rescuing navy/civilian vessels and the airmen above - much of Dunkirk was shot on 70mm and Super Panavision 65mm film - making it only the fourth major motion picture of the decade to be shot and shown theatrically in 70mm (after Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, Nolan's Interstellar and Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight).

The ever popular Borders Big Band were established in the early 80s and are returning to The Brunton to recreate the swinging sounds of the 30s and 40s up to more modern swing classics.

With twenty musicians performing classics of the swing era, Borders Big Band aims to raise The Brunton’s roof with its repertoire drawn from the libraries of Big Band greats such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Sammy Nestico, Lennie Niehouse, Neal Hefti and many others.

The band performs under the expert guidance of musical director Chris Achenbach.
