Matinee 3pm / Evening 7.30pm

Director: Gurinder Chadha / 2017 / 1h46m

Lord Mountbatten (Hugh Bonneville) became the last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people. As negotiations wore on, conflict erupted.

Gurinder Chadha's film examines these events through the prism of the Mountbattens and a romance between young Hindu Jeet (Manish Dayal) and his Muslim bride to be Aalia (Huma Qureshi). The young lovers find themselves caught up in the end of Empire, in conflict with the Mountbattens and with their own communities, but never ever giving up hope.
