Inspiring events and light hearted entertainment for 2018

Happy New Year from everyone at The Brunton! There is a warm welcome awaiting you at The Brunton, so book yourself in for some light hearted entertainment and be inspired by our selection of thrilling and moving events.

We are delighted to play host to award winning Scottish theatre companies Grid Iron and Stellar Quines with a new musical comedy Bingo! The National Theatre of Scotland is also back, with Eddie And The Slumber Sisters, collaborating with our wonderful resident children’s theatre company Catherine Wheels. This interactive play uses warmth, songs and humour to explore grieving through the eyes of a child.

Room 2 Manoeuvre, our resident dance company, plays host to Breakin’ Rules – a performance of some of the best in UK and local Hip Hop dance companies. Our dance programme also includes Barrowland Ballet’s Wolves exploring the stories told to keep us safe.

Captivate Theatre return with two musical masterpieces, Les Misérables and Sweeney Todd; Craig Hill performs his comedy mayhem and Jason Donovan entertains with stories and songs from his career. Music lovers have plenty to choose from with a fantastic selection of jazz, trad, country and rock ‘n’ roll music, from a wealth of talented bands!

Our classical music programme includes The Royal Scottish National Orchestra with Christopher Gough taking the spotlight for the solo horn finale. Pianist Susan Tomes presents an insightful afternoon, looking at the work of Haydn and Beethoven and our ever popular lunchtime classical concerts provide a place to meet with friends, enjoy a light lunch and an hour long concert.
