Musicians and Dancers (S1-S6) Required for 'Brewband'
Published: Wednesday 8th March 2017
East Lothian Arts Service is working in partnership with Marc Brew Dance Company to deliver an exciting new programme of Youth Arts activity in connection with their brand new work, Brewband.
East Lothian Arts Service is looking for a mix of dancers and musicians (ages S1-S6) to join us for a 3-day workshop during the Easter break to create a curtain raiser which will be performed ahead of the performance of Brewband in the Brunton Theatre on the evening of Saturday 29th April. Individuals are welcome to apply; you do NOT need to be part of a band or dance group.
The Workshops will be led by Dance Artist, Stephanie MacAulay and Youth Music Forum Development Worker, Iain Bruce who will bring together their dance and music expertise. Using the same techniques as the Marc Brew Company, they aim to produce a 5-10 minute original piece that blurs the lines between dancer and musician.
The workshops will take place on Tuesday 4th April, Wednesday 5th April and Thursday 6th April between 10.00am - 4.00pm in venue 2 at The Brunton. There will also be a rehearsal on Saturday 29th April ahead of our performance (time TBC). Performers must be available for all the rehearsal dates and performance.
The total cost of the workshops and performance will be £5.50. This includes a ticket to watch the Marc Brew Performance.
The closing date for applications is Fri 17 March.
