SALTIRE FESTIVAL 2017

The Saltire Festival is back for 2017 to celebrate St. Andrews Day and the Home of the Flag.

The festival runs from 30 Nov - 3 Dec and will bring people from all over the world to celebrate Scotland's fascinating heritage, wonderful culture, delicious food & drink traditions and the best of Scottish music, arts, innovation and entertainment.

There are a number of exciting events taking place around the county, allowing visitors to experience the stunning beaches, rolling countryside and pristine towns and villages of East Lothian.

The Brunton is working in partnership with the Saltire Festival to bring a selection of this year’s entertainment to venues across the county. Traditional music, film and comedy events include:

St Andrew’s Day Trad Fest: Breabach

Barluath, East Lothian Massed Pipes And Drums

Winners of Folk Band of the Year and Album of Year at the 2016 Scots Trad Music Awards and this year nominated Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Scotland on Film: Tommy’s Honour (PG)

Candlelight Concert: Rura & Joy Dunlop

Rura’s exquisitely rugged yet refined blend of fiddle, Highland pipes, flute, bodhran and guitar combined with contemporary yet traditional Gaelic music and song performed by Joy Dunlop.

Eddi Reader: Saltire Festival 2017

Comedy Club 4 Kids

The best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families - but without the rude bits!

Craig Hill and Friends: The Saltire Stand Up

A special one off event where Craig Hill welcomes to the stage, guest comedians from both on and off screen for a night of the very best in Scottish stand-up comedy. Hosted by Jo Jo Sutherland.
