Our Ladies follows a group of Scottish schoolgirls on a day trip to Edinburgh to perform in a choir competition.
The year 1996 and the teenage choir girls of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour are on a jubilant day-trip to Edinburgh from their quiet Highlands hometown. An affectionate adaptation of Alan Warner's novel The Sopranos, Our Ladies follows six brazen Catholic schoolgirls, more interested in alcohol, men and sex than singing, on their devious escapades around the big city. This wild riot of girl-power, brilliant friendships and big dreams redefines how we see and discuss female desire on screen; a compelling, unflinching and sex positive look at the frustrations and possibilities of being young and defiantly alive in mid-90s Scotland.
