Following the huge success of Unboxed 2025, Choose Play is delighted to bring this play event back to Haddington.
Event Description
Unboxed is a simple idea inspired by the unlimited possibilities of cardboard boxes!
The Corn Exchange will be transformed into a hive of activity as children's imagination, creativity and construction skills are put to use with an abundance of cardboard and simple making tools.
A quieter, low-sensory space away from the hustle and bustle will be available to anyone who needs it. Look out for visual stories about the event on Choose Play's social media to share with children so they know what to expect.

Both children and adults must have a ticket - advance booking is recommended. There may be availability on the day, at the organisers' discretion
Dates and times
- ASN evening session: Thursday 15th January, 6pm – 8.30pm.
This session is designed especially for families with children and teenagers with additional support needs. All members of the family are welcome to book in.
- Family session: Fri 16 Jan 1pm-3pm
- Quiet sessions: Sat 17 & Sun 18 Jan, 9.30am to 11am
These sessions will have reduced numbers and a quieter atmosphere. They are designed to be fun and appealing to anyone who prefers a lower sensory environment.
- Family sessions: Sat 17 Jan 11.15am - 1.15pm, 1.30pm - 3.30pm
- Family sessions: Sun 18 Jan 11.15am - 1.15pm, 1.30pm - 3.30pm
Suitable for primary school age children, teenagers and families. Children remain the responsibility of parents and carers at all times.
Unboxed is available for local nurseries and families with young children to book on the morning of Friday 16th January. Contact info@elpa.org.uk
Venue & Accessibility
This event will be held at Corn Exchange, Court Street, Haddington EH41 3DS.
- The Corn Exchange has recently been refurbished and we have added a technical infrastructure for the stage, sound and lighting especially for live performances.
- A selection of refreshments are available, and the town has several restaurants and cafes.
- Located on Court Street, the main road through Haddington, there is free parking at the rear of the building.
- Access into the building is level, with accessible toilets inside.
